OCTOBER 8-10, 2024

STRATTON, COLORADO

  • Welcome to the Ancestral Hunting School Antelope Buck offering, taking place in eastern Colorado, from October 8-10, 2024. This unique online and hands-on experience is designed to teach you the essentials about hunting, butchering and processing big game animals while connecting to the land, animals and ultimately yourself and is meant to be for the hunter who has some experience but wants to challenge themselves with a different type of hunt that will challenge your stealth and long range accuracy. The private land we will be hunting are

    The Antelope Buck is an integral part of Ancestral Hunting School, founded by Ken Conte, is an invitation for those who want to be connected with their food, be more self-reliant and learn the skills necessary to thrive in the outdoors. We teach everything from basic survival skills to spotting big game, how to walk in the woods quietly, ancestral skills, effective kill zone and how to use every part of the animal. This is hands on and you will have a coach with you out in the field. We have extensive access to private land in eastern Colorado and will be staying at the ranch house, where you will have lodging and all your meals will be provided.

    You can expect to come out of this experience with a new appreciation for your food, the land and a sense of being more self-sufficient. This will ripple out into the rest of your world with potential outcomes including reverence for food, connection to nature, better concentration through long times in nature, attention to detail through firearms safety and emotional regulation through being able to ramp up and slow down when needed.

  • - Live 1-hour interactive sessions led by Ken Conte featuring Ancestral Hunting Schools proprietary curriculum.

    - Students are urged to attend live sessions to get as much as they can, we prepare as much as we can for everything that is under our control so we can be ready to take an animal in the most ethical and conscious way.

    - Each session is recorded for convenience, allowing participants to watch again.

    The series consists of seven one-hour digital sessions on Wednesdays and a live hunt in Colorado:

    - Session 1: March 6th initial meeting hunter ed cards, intros etc

    - Session 2: June 4th pre-hunt meeting

    - Session 3: September 26th pre-hunt meeting

    Timing: 4:30 pm PST / 6:30 pm CST / 7:30 pm EST.

    In person October 8-10, fly into Denver or drive if possible. Be in Stratton Colorado by evening October 7th (2 hour drive from Denver) leave on the 10th in the evening. Hunt morning of the 8th through the evening of the 10th.

  • Antelope hunting can be physically strenuous. You should be able to carry weight for distance, be prepared for early mornings and late nights. Fortunately our partners at Mountain Tough have stepped up and are offering 45 days of training on their app that will help us all prepare for the strenuous work that is western hunting.

This unique online and hands-on experience is designed to teach you the essentials about hunting, butchering and processing big game animals while connecting to the land, animals and ultimately yourself.

    The Flagship Hunting School by Ancestral Hunting School, founded by Ken Conte, is an invitation for those who want to be connected with their food, be more self-reliant and learn the skills necessary to thrive in the outdoors. We teach everything from basic survival skills to spotting big game, how to walk in the woods quietly, ancestral skills, effective kill zone and how to use every part of the animal.     This unique online and hands-on experience is designed to teach three women the essentials about hunting, butchering and processing elk while connecting to the land, animals, each other and ultimately yourself.

    Ancestral Hunting School Elk hunting, founded by Ken Conte, is an invitation for those who have some hunting experience and want to be connected with their food, be more self-reliant and learn the skills necessary to thrive in the outdoors. We teach skills to help on an elk hunt including spotting elk, stalking elk, ancestral skills, effective kill zone for an elk, field dressing, processing and how to use every part of the animal. This is hands on and you will have a coach with you out in the field. We have access to thousands of private acres in Colorado and will be staying at the ranch house, where you will have lodging and all your meals will be provided.

    You can expect to come out of this experience with a new appreciation for your food, the land and a sense of being more self-sufficient. This will ripple out into the rest of your world with potential outcomes including reverence for food, connection to nature, better concentration through long times in nature, attention to detail through firearms safety and emotional regulation through being able to ramp up and slow down when needed.There is no guarantee on harvesting an elk, but we have had great results with 4 of 5 hunters harvesting cow Elk this past year.

  • Welcome to the Ancestral Hunting School Trifecta Hunting offering, this is for the adventurer who is “All In” and wants to hunt 3 different species in October (Colorado Antelope), November (Wyoming Deer) and December/January (Colorado Elk)

    This unique online and hands-on experience is designed to ramp up everything you know about hunting in a quick period of time, filling the freezer with a variety of game meat that should last a long time. In the process you will put all your skills to the test and learn essentia hunting, butchering and processing skills while connecting to the land, animals, each other and ultimately yourself.

    Ancestral Hunting School Elk hunting, founded by Ken Conte, is an invitation for those who have some hunting experience and want to be connected with their food, be more self-reliant and learn the skills necessary to thrive in the outdoors.

    While each trip is independent of the other, we intend to build on the skills in each hunt, culminating in an elk hunt that will test your cunning and your accuracy with a rifle. It is the perfect marriage of both of the previous hunts combining skills learned up to that point.

    We teach skills to help on an elk hunt including spotting elk, stalking elk, ancestral skills, effective kill zone for each animal, field dressing, processing and how to use every part of the animal. This is hands on and you will have a coach with you out in the field. We have access to thousands of private acres in Colorado and Wyoming and will be staying at ranch houses, where you will have lodging and all your meals will be provided.

    You can expect to come out of this experience with a new appreciation for your food, the land and a sense of being more self-sufficient. This will ripple out into the rest of your world with potential outcomes including reverence for food, connection to nature, better concentration through long times in nature, attention to detail through firearms safety and emotional regulation through being able to ramp up and slow down when needed.There is no guarantee on harvesting an animal, but we have had great results with a 66 % success rate.
